Systematische Metaphernanalyse als qualitative sozialwissenschaftliche Forschungsmethode

Abstract

Central assumptions of cognitive metaphor theory can be used as elements of a qualitative research methodology for use in the social sciences. The paper outlines the transformation of the approach of Lakoff and Johnson into a hermeneutic metaphor analysis; rules for the execution and quality criteria can be specified. As a sociological metaphor analysis it will not help to achieve progress in the intra-linguistic debate. Its task is to create new viewpoints in the fields of social science and to prove itself in relation to other methods of text analysis.
