Metaphernerwerb : eine empirische Studie bei Kindern im Alter von sechs bis vierzehn Jahren
Abstract
Our empirical study is aimed at finding evidence for children’s understanding of figurative language. We, furthermore, bring the specific cognitive requirements into focus that are indispensable for comprehending words with a metaphorical meaning. Only when children reach the level where they have acquired a conceptual understanding of utterances and are capable of thinking in analogies and configurational relations, they can truly comprehend metaphorical language and use it appropriately.
