Ein genuin empathiehemmender Frame – Strategien zur Erzeugung und Dekonstruktion der Wirkung konzeptueller Metaphern
Abstract
The present paper analyses frame-structures of conceptual metaphors based on the CMT by George Lakoff and Mark Johnson (1980/2007) and its methodological development by Gilles Fauconnier and Marc Turner (1998). Our aim is to show the traceability and the possibility to deconstruct the effect of metaphorically conceptualized phenomena in politics and society. Slots and fillers of the frames are defined by the four Aristotelian categories QUANTITY, QUALITY, TIME and SPACE. The frame-structure is inspired by Marvin Minsky (1975) and Charles Fillmore (1976). Also, the method to identify Matrixframes proposed by Klaus-Peter Konerding (1993) is taken into account. The methodical approach will be presented analysing the metaphor MIGRATION as WATER MOVEMENT and its peculiar effect to inhibit empathy. The analysis proceeds on a synchronic level as a German-Italian comparison and on a diachronic level regarding developments between 2015 and 2018. The corpus consists of articles of the Italia Oggi and Die Welt.
