About the Journal
OpenSpaces is a biannual, peer-reviewed open-access journal for geography education that aims at providing space for critical approaches within different traditions of geography education and beyond, linking critical aspirations, academic quality and speaking positions for young and emerging scholars. We highly appreciate submissions in English or German for our upcoming issues.
OpenSpaces provides you with five categories under which you are able to submit your original contribution:
- Teaching theory & methodology (Fachdidaktik)*
- Teaching practice (Unterrichtspraxis)*
- Projects (Projekte)**
- Open the Box (for creative and informal contributions)**
- Reports (Berichte)**
- Reviews (Rezensionen)**
* double-blind peer-reviewed ** editorial review
Please consider that English as well as German abstracts have to be included in every publication. To prevent inconveniences, please refer to our authors' guidlines prior to your submission.
We're looking forward to your contribution!
Note on publication:
OpenSpaces is published twice a year and only publishes originals that have undergone a double-blind review process by external reviewers or internal editorial review.
OpenSpaces does not charge authors any publication fees.
The guidelines of good scientific practice apply. OpenSpaces is published under the CC-BY 4.0 copyright licence as standard. The copyright of the individual contributions lies with the authors. Publications are indexed via the publication server of the University of Duisburg-Essen (DuEPublico) and assigned a DOI. They can thus be found via all common databases.
As an Open Access journal, the complete content is freely available at no cost to the user or their institution. Users may read, download, copy, share, print, search, link or use the complete texts in any other lawful manner without prior authorisation from the editors or authors. Restrictions on reproduction and distribution exist in the form of the copyright mentioned here as the authors' right to the integrity of their work and to appropriate acknowledgement and citation.
