Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

General

Contributions to the Fachdidaktik section are subjected to a double-blind review process by external reviewers. Submissions from the area of teaching practice or contributions to discussions are reviewed internally. The guidelines of good scientific practice apply.

o Abstract in German AND English: max. 550 characters (incl. spaces)
o Keywords in German AND English (max. 5)
o Contribution (without abstract):
- for Fachdidaktik: approx. 12 pages (corresponds to 4,000 words including headings, references; minus illustrations and worksheets)
- for teaching practice or discussion contributions: approx. 8 pages (corresponds to approx. 2 500 words)
o Authors take sole responsibility for the content and opinions expressed in the contribution.
o Authors are responsible for ensuring the copyright of their illustrations and note this accordingly.

Formal requirements

o File format: doc(x), rtf or odt

o Clearly mark headings as such and number them consecutively.

o Tables and figures should be referenced in the text (in numerical order).

o Labels of tables are placed above them

o Labels of figures are placed below them

o Copyright information is in the figure caption or table caption

o Figures:
- as additional files
- Format jpg or tiff
- min. 300 dpi
- maximum width of figures: 16.7 cm

o Citation style: APA-6th-Style

Gender asterisk (*)

The gender asterisk (*) is intended to give linguistic consideration to people of all genders, in particular those who do not classify themselves as "man" or "woman".
