Klim:S21
A formative evaluation of a serious game to promote knowledge about climate change adaptation
Keywords:
educational game, Game-Based Learning, learning effect, usability, climate change educationAbstract
Knowledge deficits in the field of climate change adaptation (CCA) show that this topic has not yet been sufficiently integrated into educational landscapes. Therefore, we developed Klim:S21, a digital Serious Game to educate young players about CCA. To ensure successful game development, the beta-version of the game was investigated in a formative evaluation. The examination of the usability (N = 120) and the learning effect (n = 52) propose opportunities for improvement of Klim:S21 and confirm the game as a functioning learning tool.
